Birdie

I thought I was going to have to take in a new pet this weekend! We found a baby bird in the yard, and the kids wanted to keep it. Laurel even named it...."Birdie"! She couldn't fly yet, and seemed very content to let the kids pet her with a flower like you see Laurel doing in the picture. We saw the Mama bird flying around, and actually went and fed another baby bird about 20ft from where this bird was. So we left "our" baby bird alone so the mama bird could come feed her. But Laurel kept saying that she missed "Birdie". On Sunday, she went out to look for it, and when she couldn't find it, she came in sad and asked if it was going to come back and visit us.
