Disney 2008

Finally, I am posting a few of our pictures of Disney. We had a really good trip. It was super fun..and super exhausting! We left the hotel room every morning early, and would not return until late. We stayed at the Yacht Club off the Boardwalk, walking distance to the Epcot. We had a really nice pool at the resort with a beach area and water slides! It was a really hard decision for the kids to leave the pool or go to Magic Kingdom. :) The Yacht club had a beach area as well, and every night they would have a smores campfire and play a Disney movie by the beach on a projector. This was so much fun for the kids.
Laurel was the perfect height this year to get to do just about all the rides at the parks. (Good for her, bad for me) because I had been able to stay off the rides by saying Laurel was too little...this time, I had to just "suck it up and go". And she was not afraid of anything! Landon and Kyle headed straight for Space Mountain, and she was ready to go too! Keep in mind for years, and countless trips to Disney, I had avoided this particular ride...and my time was up because my 5 yr old daughter is not afraid! So I went...and survived. And when they mentioned Splash Landing (the ride that drops 50 stories!), she was ready again! I finally gave in and got in line when 2 older ladies convinced me it was not as bad as I thought. And it wasn't! And for the first time, we went to one of the Disney Waterparks! It was so much fun, and the kids say it was their favorite day! It was a really nice way to cool off. (I don't have pictures from this day because we didn't take our camera.)
We also went to Downtown Disney one day, and Laurel's treat was a "spa day" at the Bibiddi Bobiddi Boutique. She got her hair, nails, and make-up done. She was too cute.

It has been a while!

It has been a really long time since my last post! I have even gotten the "I keep checking your blog" comments from a couple of people.
Since my last post, we have moved into a new house, Landon and Laurel have been playing soccer, Landon has also been playing coach pitch baseball, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law announced that they are moving back to Mississisppi (Ocean Springs), and Kyle has been traveling nonstop! I think that is about it as far as news.
Landon and Laurel both did well in soccer. Laurel really got into it this spring. She scored 5 goals her first game! Yes, I said 5! Her coach was actually trying to hold her back so that the other players could get a chance at the ball. As it turns out, she is pretty quick (in this age group, at least!) Her last game is Saturday. Landon is playing coach pitch baseball....and for the first time ever, he is on a league that is keeping score! This is a big deal.
Jennifer and Lance sold their house in Cedar Falls, IA, and are packing up this weekend to move back to MS. She came over for the day last weekend, and I am not going to lie...it was tough to see her leave. It was nice to have family even 2 hours away. But we are flying down in July to Gulfport so we will see them soon.

Spring Time Indeed!

It was 76 degrees yesterday in the Quad Cities! It was such a nice sunny, warm day! Today's high is only supposed to be in the 60's due to some rain we are getting later today, but 60's is better than 20's any day! Spring has finally sprung in the QC!

Spring Break

It has been a little while since I have posted. It seems like we have been busy, but I can't really tell you what we have been doing.
Our Spring Break trip was great! We did a little Midwest touring. First, we started in Chicago where Landon and Laurel and I went shopping for my birthday while Kyle was in meetings. We went to the Lego store for Landon, and there happened to be a Hello Kitty store next door for Laurel. The next day we went to Medieval Times on Sunday night. For those of you who don't know...This is a castle that is a dinner and show theatre. There were Knights on horses fighting, and we got to eat dinner with our hands!
Next on the tour was the Jelly Belly factory just south of Milwaukee, WI. This was a short, sweet stop on the tour. Our next stop was Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI. Landon was really excited. He has become a huge Green Bay fan! The history of this team is very interesting. The city still owns the team! That night we we stayed at a hotel with an indoor waterpark in Green Bay. Mom and Dad enjoyed the down time as much as the kids!
The next day we headed to Bloomington, MN. This is where the Mall of America is located. That night, we somehow got free tickets to the Minnesota Timberwolves Basketball game. And we had so much fun. Landon was ecstatic. And Laurel was excited to meet the dancers. (We weren't really sure who to root for since they were playing Memphis, but we ultimately decided to go for Minneapolis, and they won in the last 2 minutes!)
The last two days of the trip we hit the Mall of America! And we needed 2 days to do it all. It is huge! It took us that long to ride the all the rides and to just walk the entire mall. (This is not a good place to go for a serious shopper...it is just too big!)
After the MOA, we headed to Cedar Falls to Lance and Jen's for Easter. Big Pop and Meme came up too. After a visit to see the Easter Bunny on Saturday evening, we woke on Easter morning to...SNOW, what else! We had a really good weekend and visit with the Family. We were not ready to head back to work on Monday.
